movement-sample-data

Sample data used in tests and examples of the movement Python package.

Licensing information

MoCA crab video and annotations

The single-crab_MOCA-crab-1_video.mp4 video and corresponding annotations are part of the Moving Camouflaged Animals Dataset (MoCA) dataset [1]. The MoCA dataset is available to download for commercial/research purposes under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. The copyright remains with the original owners of the video. A complete version of the license for the MoCA dataset can be found here.

The VIA_single-crab_MOCA-crab-1_linear-interp.csv file is linearly interpolated from the original data in the MoCA dataset and was contributed by GitHub contributor Mahima Sahu (@Mahi7828).

The original annotation data for the selected clip (crab_1) was modified to follow the format of a VIA tracks file. The associated video clip was generated from the frames provided in the MoCA dataset.

Anipose mouse paw triangulation data

The anipose_mouse-paw_anipose-paper.triangulation.csv file was taken from anipose source data available here, released under a Creative Commons Zero v1.0 Universal License. The data excerpt was renamed from mouse-anipose/mouse-testing/020820_preDTreaches_day1/020820_JiDT12/pose-3d/preDT1_JiDT12_reach1_hit.csv.

Locusts tracked with TRex

The TRex_five-locusts.zip data was taken from the TRex-tutorials-data repository, which is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Specifically, the files in TRex_five-locusts.zip correspond to the .npz files stored under TRex-tracking-output/locusts-5/data/. We acknowledge Angela Albi and Daniele Carlesso for providing access to the dataset and related materials, collected in the facility of the Department of Collective Behavior at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior and the Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour (CASCB) at the University of Konstanz.

The corresponding video can be found on the Edmond data repository [2] as locusts-noqr_20250117_5.mp4. This is a video of 5 locusts (Schistocerca gregaria) in a 60cm diameter custom-built arena. The video was originally recorded at 5 frames per second but the playback in this file is set to 30 frames per second.

The locusts-noqr_n-5_date-20250117_frame-bg.png file constitutes the max projection of the first 100 frames of the video.

IBL-paw dataset

These data come from IBL Brainwide maps data release [3] and are licensed under CC BY 4.0. The specific CSV files shared here (EKS_IBL-paw_multicam_left.predictions.csv and EKS_IBL-paw_multicam_right.predictions.csv) were generated using the Ensemble Kalman Smoother (EKS) on the multi-camera IBL-paw files that are distributed as part of the EKS repository https://github.com/paninski-lab/eks.
